8th Grade Writing Proficiency Callibration

Join Sara Spacek at Chaboya Middle School for an 8th grade writing calibration session around the narrative and persuasive genre. This is an excellent opportunity to examine anchor papers and come to consensus as to what constitutes a 1,2,3 and 4 on the rubric.

2nd Grade Writing Calibration Workshop

Please join Suzanne Lima and Kim Gurley at Millbrook Elementary School in room 9 on March 15 from 3:30-5:00 for a 2nd grade writing calibration session around the writing proficiency anchor papers. This is an excellent opportunity to examine anchor papers and come to consensus as to what constitutes a 1,2,3,4 or 5 on the rubric.

First Aid

Event Date: Mar 16, 2010

The First Aid workshop is for people taking First Aid for the first time or for those whose cards have expired. First Aid is valid for three years.

Please be aware of the following:

If CPR/First Aid certification is not a requirement of your position (coaches, PE teachers, administrators, and health assistants are required to be certified), your spot may be given to an employee requiring this certification for their position if the workshop is full.

Adult and Child CPR Recertification

The Adult/Child CPR Recertification workshop is for people renewing a currently valid CPR certification, which will be expiring. Current CPR cards must be brought to the workshop.

The Big Apple and Columbia University Teachers College are coming AGAIN to Evergreen School District for 4 days of intensive training in Writer’s Workshop techniques. This is a unique opportunity to experience Writer’s Workshop from the experts.
Preference will be given to those teachers who did not attend the Home Grown Institute last summer. All attendees will receive a stipend and the Writer's Workshop Units of Study. Space is limited to 30 so make sure you register right away.
